Suubi needs your help!
Last week, a pregnant woman came to Suubi suffering from severe pain. She was going into premature labor because of very bad malaria that was threatening her life. Our health team did their very best, but were unable to save the baby's life. Our midwife told us that same evening that if Suubi owned an ultrasound, they probably would have been able to save the baby's life. In that moment, we decided that it was too important to ignore. We had to purchase an ultrasound.
Suubi has been given the amazing opportunity to access a top of the line ultrasound machine by GE Medical Australia. Thanks to their generosity, we are able to buy it with a $5,500 discount for just $3,000! This is a tiny amount to pay for a device that is going to save lives in a very rural community.

In this blog post, Ashleigh (the current advocate in Budondo) discusses the challenges faced in the area of maternal health in Uganda. Each day in Uganda 16 women die due to pregnancy complications, with the overwhelming majority occurring in rural areas like Budondo. If Suubi is able to buy an ultrasound machine, we will be able to provide high quality pre-natal care and work to reduce this shocking number.
Help me raise $3,000 for these mothers and babies.
Let's spread the love! If you know of someone who might be just as inspired as I am, share this email and increase your impact.
You won’t miss that $20, but a beautiful mama in Budondo will remember it forever.
Thank you! Helen and the Budondo Community
