A Farewell Tour

I had a whirlwind of a week packing and sweating and trashing and crying and wrapping up an existence in Baltimore that I proudly called my life. A gathering of best friends and colleagues at my favorite watering hole summed up the most heartfelt and saddest of goodbyes. What amazing people I had come to know.

Friday morning came swiftly with a lack of sleep and an instant sweat bath as I lugged the last of my belongings to the car or the curb. Time to pick up Priscilla! Mom arrived late that morning and we hit the pavement with purpose. First up, a lunch rendezvous with cousin Joanna and her husband Clint at a Mexican/Salvadorian restaurant in Arlington, VA. Then exhausted from excessive food and travel (lol...right), we hung out at Joanna's new home. A rain storm cracked open the sky and mom made her "oh how I miss this" sort of noise--I snickered but secretly agreed that rainstorms were something remarkable on the east coast.

Then, soon as the rain subsided, we hopped into Rosa (my reliable VW golf with character and spunk). We were headed to Herdon, VA to meet up with Julie and Devereaux (but not before our "easy" 11 miles turned into a tortuous 65 minute traffic disaster).

A quick recharge in their cozy beds and then a final farewell to Baltimore in the most appropriate of fashions: a trip to the Baltimore Farmer's Market and Bazaar. Best. Crepes. Ever.

We also got to visit Grandma and Aunt Diane!

Finally, off to DC to visit some dear family-friends (not to mention a delicious lunch at an Adams Morgan Lebanese restaurant).

Our weekend ended as we climbed into the cozy beds at the Goldman residence (Jon and Joan shout-out!) in Baltimore. We needed our sleep, for tomorrow, the real work began. Cincinnati...here we come!
